It
all started back in 1993 when my Ex-boyfriend suggested that it would be nice
to have Husky around the house! After a year of research and talking to breeders,
I agreed. We decided to go an a waiting list and waited for our new addition
to arrive.
"Senna" arrived at 8 weeks old in 1994 (Cnejinkas Minstrel Lad)
a little bundle of fluff with blue eyes, just perfect! I did show him and
qualified him for Crufts but never got there, due to my Ex leaving and taking
the dog with him. Phoning Jenny Manley to arrange a visit - & upon my
visit, Jenny placed a bobble hat in my arms and inside was "Kolar"
she was absolutely beautiful. Born on Christmas Day 1995. Six months later
I got her a playmate "Michka" from Sandra Thompson. I showed both
the girls & did reasonable well. A couple of years later I decided to
breed from "Kolar" - which I needed an "Affix" = called
"ZARCHENSKI" which is made up from (ZAR - from my name Zara) (C
- from Cnejinkas) ( HEN - from part of my last name Ashenden) & (SKI
- from Skimarque)
I met Lee in January 2000. He joined the mad house at Christmas 2000 when
we got engaged. For two years Lee was my lackie at the races, making sure
all was right, so for the season (2003 / 2004) Lee had his own lackie, yes
Me! We swapped. I was hoping that the dogs wouldn't listen to him so i could
have them back, but he did extremely well, as he won the 3 dog Championship
with ABSA.
2003 - 2004 was a very busy 18 months, Not only did we organize our very
first Husky race event, which We must say thank you to "Red
Mills" for their kind sponsorship for this event. I have
to say it was a lot of very hard work, but worth every minute. We were made
famous for a couple of minutes on the T.V. as the news presenter
Roger Finn from "South Today" came
and filmed us. We moved house which was very stressful but the icing on
the cake, was that we got married in September 2004.
From September 04 to March 05 we took a year out from racing. We still take
the dog's to the shows, and wait for the big build up to come! And we will
be back out there this season for the winter months.
In 2006 to present day were back in the racing and loving it, our boys are
getting old now, but they continue to give it their all. We have decided
in 2007 to add to our kennel by bring in four new puppies. So hopefully
these will be, our new 4 dog race team. Watch this space.
On the 24th September 2007 we also added a new addition to our home, a little
boy called Kai weighing in at 7lb 7oz, now we our a family. It will be a few
years until Kai is behind a rig, we'll keep you informed of his progress.
Also
in 2007 we started up "South Coast Sleddogs"-
(S.C.S) an Affiliated organization which allows us to put on an event
under the ABSA banner.
That was our years in brief, to find out more about "Zarchenski"
